With Humpty Dumpty as a primary figure, I utilize humor & the grotesque to explore how a species of human-egg hybrid could possibly live. How do they reproduce? What does their society look like? How would a dissection of their internal anatomy appear? Why do we tell children about an egg that dies over & over again? Why do we think Humpty Dumpty was an egg when the rhyme never said Humpty Dumpty was an egg? These important questions are the center of my work. In a series of zines, stickers, postcards, & riso prints, I use the absurdity of this character & others to illustrate the irony of social rules, especially how they manipulate our assumptions, behavior, & thought.
